Denver Summer Sales: Score a Deal at These Adorable Local Kids’ Boutiques

Denver Summer Sales Nest Children's Boutique

Nest Children’s Boutique

Summer vacation is more than halfway over? I’m not sure how that happened. I’m definitely not quite ready to face the fact that my oldest is about to be a kindergartner, but I am checking out the summer sales to see what I can add to his back-to-school wardrobe. Stores are starting to stock fall clothes, but even better are the summertime sales…the perfect time to visit the local kids’ clothing boutiques for high-quality clothes at a steal! Here are a few of my favorites happening right now…

Heloise, Cherry Creek: 300 University Boulevard, Denver, 303-997-5261

You could walk into this little shop with your eyes closed and pick out any item at random and you would not be disappointed. The clothes are just beautiful, but the price tags are not always budget-friendly, which is what makes their sale time the time to visit. And while you browse, your kiddos will have fun running in and out of the indoor play tree house. Sizes range from baby clothes up to size 14 (and a few styles in size 16 for boys). Popular brands include Mayoral, Question Everything, and Johnnie-O. Hours: Mon to Sat, 10am to 6pm; Closed Sun.

The deals: Right now Heloise has summer clothes on sale, with racks ranging from 15%, 20%, even 40% off through this Saturday. Most of the sale inventory seems to be smaller (maybe up to size 8). Next week fall back-to-school clothes will hit the floors, but not on sale.

Hollyhocks, Cherry Creek: 2817 E 3rd Avenue, 303-388-8001

After 19 years tucked into a quiet plaza in the Hilltop neighborhood, Hollyhocks made the move last year to join Cherry Creek North. As their tagline, “Where southern charm meets Denver tradition” implies, Hollyhocks is where you’ll find more formal and special occasion clothing for kids but they also carry more casual wear, too. They outfit girls up to size 16 and have traditionally outfitted boys with sizes 5-16, but are largely phasing out boys’ clothes so now is an especially great time to snag a deal for boys. Popular brands include Ralph Lauren and Mayoral. Hours: Mon to Sat, 10am to 6pm; Closed Sun.

The deals: Hollyhocks is participating in the current Cherry Creek North sidewalk sale with 50% off summer inventory, plus most of the boys’ inventory in stock. The fall back-to-school clothes will be on display in coming weeks, but no sales for that.

Nest Children’s Boutique and Hatched by Nest, Cherry Creek(ish): 2940 East 6th Avenue/585 Milwaukee Street, Denver (adjoining stores), 720-287-1372

These adjoining sister stores carry fantastic kids’ clothes and accessories for kids.  You’ll find casual play clothes and some nicer items, too. What I love most is that even the boys’ clothes here are so cute (although it’s a little dangerous, too). My kids pretty much live in fleece, sweats, and t-shirts, but I can’t help but grab a fun shirt or two whenever I pop over here. Tea is perhaps the most popular clothing brand they carry, but lately they’ve been stocking a number of locally produced items as well. (You should also check out their other sister store, Firebird Books and Toys. Read more here.) Hours: Mon to Sat, 9am to 6pm; Sun 11am to 5pm.

The deals: Right now Nest and Hatched both have sales racks carrying mostly summer inventory for $25 and under. They also have a BOGO Tea legging sale (girls up to size 8) going on. Back-to-school clothes are not yet in stock but they do currently have some “Fall-ish” clothes…long sleeves and pants, mostly for boys.

Little Feet Denver Cherry Creek: 201 University Boulevard (Cherry Creek Plaza), 303-388-9535)

This little shoe shop is where I take my boys and their crazily fast-growing feet. I must confess, my kids feet seem to grow so fast that they generally only have one pair of shoes (plus winter boots or summer sandals) at a time. But, I like to splurge a bit on a great pair, and Little Feet has a great selection of the high-quality, durable shoes I like to put on my little guys. (Stride Rite, Merrell,  and Tsukihoshi are some favorites.) The sell crib shoes all the way up to size 6 for girls and size 7 for boys. I also love that they offer a shoe-tying class for kiddos! Hours: Mon to Sat, 10am to 6pm; Sun, 12pm to 4pm.

The deals: Now through July 30, Little Feet has two tables filled with $20 and $30 shoes (really fantastic ones…just not in all the sizes), plus everything else in the store is 15% off.

Where’s your favorite spot to score a deal on kids’ clothes? I’d love to know so please share!
