What’s worth knowing in Denver this week March 3rd-9th, 2017? Your guides to 303 Day, Colorado Craft Beer Week, Boulder International Film Festival, and The Stanley Marketplace.
Happy 303 Day…the official day for showing your home-state pride! Here’s how to celebrate the fact that you get to live in Colorado. And, then meet the two people deemed the most ‘Colorado’ of us all.
The only thing that may be more Colorado than skiing? Beer…specifically craft beer. Here’s where to drink it during Colorado Craft Beer Week (March 18-25).
Zuni Street Brewing is now open in the Highlands (with the official grand opening next week) and RiNo will soon be getting another urban winery as well as a distillery.
Which local Denver ice cream shop slyly debuted the new flavor I’m Peach Mint and is donating 10% of all pint sales to the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network? (Hint…one of its two locations is in The Denver Central Market.) Speaking of…did you read Confluence Denver’s recent piece on The Denver Central Market’s origin? I just can’t get enough of our food halls. (And cheers to Detroit-to-Denver transplants!)
Last weekend we spent a couple hours hanging out in the newly opened Stanley Marketplace…it’s amazing how many beloved Denver spots have opened (or are opening) an additional outpost there. We had an enjoyable dinner at Comida but realized afterwards that Stanley Beer Hall had a surprisingly kid-friendly dinner menu. So you know all your options before you go…here’s a handy guide to eating at Stanley Marketplace.
Patterns and Pops fashion truck is settling down in a permanent home on Platte Street.
Denver start-up Hovit debuts a ride-share app that allows you to choose your favorite drivers so you always feel comfortable with who is giving you a lift.
How fantastic is it that Madeline Stuart, the world’s first supermodel with Down’s Syndrome, will present her own fashion line at Denver Fashion Week as well as strut down the catwalk?
Finally, I’ve always been amazed by Finland’s Baby Box concept and how it helps new parents welcome their little one, so I loved seeing that hundreds of Colorado families were recently given their own baby box to keep little ones safe.
What are you up to this weekend? Here’s where to go to enjoy Denver Restaurant Week…and here’s where to go to avoid it. Tonight is First Friday across the city. A few other fun options this weekend…Girls and Science (Museum of Science and Nature), Swap Social, and SoCo Ball: A Night in the Roarin’ 20s. Plus, what to do with your kids this weekend and more March fun.
Enjoy the weekend!
