Even Lazier Holiday Gift Guide:

10 Local Colorado Gifts to Order Online

It’s December 15, which means there’s  about a week and a half of holiday shopping left…10 more days until Christmas and just 9 more until the first night of Hanukkah. Even for those last-minute shoppers that’s plenty of time. But, if you want to do your shopping online, you need to make some decisions in the next few days. Here’s a round-up of some of this year’s favorite local discoveries that not only make perfect gifts, but can also easily be ordered online so you never have to set foot in a mall.

For Kiddos:

Local Colorado gifts Hip Violet

The beautifully handcrafted Hip Violet bibs by local maker Jesi Josten have a bit of a mom cult following here in Denver. I count myself as a devotee for sure! My boys have both worn them, and I’ve stopped keeping track of how many I’ve gifted…which means you might get one twice from me. All I can say is you’re welcome.

Local Colorado gifts Sissy Bear

I only just discovered Sissy Bear at The Fort, but I love that it shares the story of friendship between a little girl and a bear…right here at Colorado’s famous restaurant, The Fort. Less a story book and more of a peek into the life and times of living with a bear, this book will hold appeal for older children and those young-at-heart with fond memories of visiting The Fort.

For Hosts:

Local Colorado gifts Paper Plates Press booze tag

Customize the bottle of bubbly you plan to bring to the next party with a slightly irreverent Paper Plates Press booze tag. Check out their entire hand-printed collection celebrating their love of food, drink, and hometown Denver.

Local Colorado gifts Helliemaes

I can never get enough Helliemae’s caramels. Seriously. I think I’m going to eat just one, but then I find I simply can’t stop myself. Treat your friends to a bag of this decadent goodness and they will either love you or hate you for contributing to their next addiction. You can also swing by the new retail store, Post Oak Hall (6195 W. 44th Avenue), in Wheat Ridge.

For Those with Discriminating Taste:

Local Colorado gifts Colorado Crafted gift boxes

So many made-in-Colorado products I love all boxed up into one pretty box…that’s the beauty of Colorado Crafted gift boxes. Plus, they’re easy to ship to the out-of-state folks who you never know what to get.

Local Colorado gifts The Local Deck

How do you gift someone with “the Denver experience”? You wrap up The Local Deck. This gift package of uniquely designed coasters comes with a special offer to 26 of our best local restaurants, breweries, distilleries, and outdoor companies. A perfect gift for that friend who loves to eat, drink and be outdoors…you know, all of us.

For the Beauty Buff:

Local Colorado gifts Live Beautifully face butter

I was introduced to Live Beautifully‘s Beautifying Face Butter earlier this year and my skin is ever so grateful. The lotion has a balm-like consistency that combats the dry Colorado air well. The Colorado company also makes fun collections of anthology lip balms. (Order by 12/19 for holiday gifts.)

Local Colorado gifts Sweat mineral powder

We pay a price for that Colorado sunshine we brag about…it can really damage our skin without constant sunscreen application. But, as anyone who finds themselves running around in the sun can tell you…it’s hard to keep sunscreen in place on a sweaty face. And make-up? No chance. Enter Colorado company Sweat Cosmetics, created by athletes for the busy woman on the go. The mineral powder stays put (even through work-outs), doesn’t clog pores, and contains SPF 30.

For Those On the Go:

Local Colorado gifts Winter Session tote

It’s not the first time I’ve mentioned my love for the Winter Session bags…and it certainly won’t be the last. These locally, handcrafted, waxed canvas bags are gorgeous and come in a style and color that suits just about everyone. I love this tote bag, but if I really had to choose, The Garrison would be my choice. You know, just in case you’re wondering.

Local Colorado gifts Topo Designs bags

Yes, two bags are on this list…but I really feel you can’t ever have enough good quality bags. (Sadly, my husband disagrees.) If you’re looking for a slightly more rugged bag, Colorado’s Topo Designs is another fantastic choice with a variety of styles and colors. Love this bright orange in the traditional duffel. (Order by 12/19 to receive for holiday gifts.)
