Go ahead…skip Black Friday. Because this Small Business Saturday Denver stores across the city are holding unbelievable deals. Get the details on your favorite independent shops and boutiques here so you can cross everyone off your holiday shopping list without ever stepping foot in a shopping mall.

I’ve never been a fan of Black Friday. My preferred post-Thanksgiving activity is lounging on a couch with a movie and leftovers. I definitely don’t want to be anywhere near a stuffy, airless shopping mall crammed with crowds. But, Small Business Saturday is a different story. I love strolling our streets, popping in and out of cute little boutiques, and stopping to chat with friends and neighbors along the way.

And, fortunately for you and me, Denver is blessed with more than our share of fantastic neighborhood shopping districts. Whether you’re looking for holiday gifts or perhaps picking up a little something sparkly for an upcoming holiday event, there are a ton of deals and fun in-store events this Small Business Saturday (November 25) in Denver’s Cherry Creek North, LoDo, South Broadway, Platt Park/S. Pearl, Highlands Square, LoHi/Riverfront, Berkeley/Tennyson Street, and even online. Let’s go shop small!

Cherry Creek North

The shopping mall may be packed with big-box retailers, but the walkable shopping district just north of it is more than 70% independent local businesses. Cherry Creek North will be giving away four CCN gift cards, two valued at $250 and two valued at $500, with proof of purchase. Stop by the Small Business Saturday Headquarters (2nd Avenue and Fillmore Street) from 10 am to 2 pm with receipt to be entered for a chance to win. You can check out a list of the Cherry Creek North shops participating in Small Business Saturday here.

Where to Shop:

AILLEA, 3000 E. 1st Avenue, Denver

This green make-up and beauty boutique gives you all of the fun of shopping a huge selection of pampering products, but leaves all of the chemical crap out. The owner is a former NYC beauty exec and started the company because she believes you shouldn’t have to compromise on your beauty products…either the ingredients or the performance. And, the best part is you’ll find tons of little indie beauty companies included here. (I’ve become a big fan of OY-L in the last year!) 20% off products on Small Business Saturday.

A Line Boutique, 2445 East 3rd Avenue, Denver

It’s not just celebs that have personal stylists. Fans of this shop rave not only about the personalized customer service (yes, that is basically an in-store bar you see in the photo below) but also the professional stylists on staff. The clothing somehow feels current but not overly trendy, classic yet still fresh. Sister store in Greenwood Village. Hosting an Ashley Schenkein trunk show and men’s Paige trunk show on Small Business Saturday.
