What’s worth knowing this week in Denver December 8 – 14, 2017? Denver Top Chef season debuts, where to find the best seasonal Denver beers, and which pop-up market will be selling these saucy candles. Plus, a few more things to know…
Did you start watching the Denver Top Chef season last night? My oldest was up way too late to cheer on Denver chef Carrie Baird. Here’s a behind-the-scenes peek. (And here’s what past Colorado Top Chefs are up to now.)
New food truck Boar & Castle is bringing gourmet, hand-rolled pasta to local breweries and events. A new delivery-only restaurant is opening in Five Points. Two Cholon-driven restaurants will be coming to Denver next summer. These seven soon-to-open restaurants just might possibly be serving customers before the month’s end. Pretty soon there will be another spot in Denver where you can wait over an hour to eat pancakes…but they’re really good pancakes. And all three DJ’s Cafe restaurants have suddenly closed, and no one seems to know why.
A quick guide to Colorado winter beers and special December releases. And, here’s a handy list to bookmark…where to have a beer in basically every Denver neighborhood. (IIf you’d like a little help keeping on top of all the new Colorado brews, check out the Craft Alley membership in our Denver Holiday Gift Guide.)
Bring a toy to Steuben’s in Uptown this Monday (December 11) evening for their toy drive and get a free drink ticket. And maybe wear a cowboy hat.
I’ve never been a skier so I had to laugh at The Trials of Dating in Colorado When You Don’t Ski. (Fortunately I settled down with a snowboarder who doesn’t mind that my preferred winter mountain activity is drinking wine fireside in the lodge.)
Where can you find the best holiday lights display on the Front Range? (If you drive to Colorado Springs, take a peek at The Broadmoor’s 12-foot gingerbread house, too.)
Kiddos have two more days (December 10) to bring their letters to Santa to Second Star on the Right Bookstore to receive a personalized letter back.
If you love Denver’s Horseshoe Market but weren’t able to make it to their quarterly show, you’ll be thrilled to know they are hosting a pop-up retail market in Belmar December 16-17.
What are up to this weekend? We’re making our annual visit to Botanic Gardens’ Blossoms of Light. A few other things I’d love to check out…Friday Night Bazaar (tonight is the last night!), Yes Please Makers Market hosted by the delightfully cheeky CraftBoner (as illustrated by the above candles) and Colorado lifestyle and apparel brand Moore Collection, Winter Fest in Cherry Creek, Jackalope Art Fair, and Denver HaHo Market. And, there’s more December Denver fun to be had.
Enjoy the weekend!
