What’s worth knowing this week in Denver January 19 – 25, 2018? The Local Deck just released a limited women’s edition, Dazzle Jazz is giving away a free wedding, and Denver is still in the Amazon running. Plus, a few more things to know…
Did you hear? The big news around town this week is Denver’s in the final 20. Is Amazon in our future?
Excited to see The Local Deck has just released a limited women’s edition featuring deals to 24 of Denver’s most loved boutiques, gift shops, flower shops, salons and wine stores (including Ella Bliss Beauty Bar, Lulu’s Furniture & Decor, Perch, Melrose and Madison, Wish Boutique, Blush and Mondo Vino to name just a few). The box is available for $40 and includes $350+ in deals. Plus, $5 of each box directly benefits the Alzheimer’s Association.
The Stanley’s finally got sushi. (Because we may be landlocked in Colorado, but we still love our sushi.) Winter Beer Fest comes to Denver this month. And sadly, no more pajama brunches for kiddos at Second Home in Cherry Creek, which closed earlier this week. (Truth be told, it’s not the food I will miss as much as the play room for kiddos which allowed us the rare peaceful brunch.)
Berkeley’s Feral Mountain Co. will be opening a second store in Idaho Springs this spring.
I have yet to check out Dazzle at their new site, but I spent my fair share of time at their original location. It was the site where my now-husband and I ended our first date, enjoyed many boozy jazz brunches, and more late-night drinks than I can count. And, I can only imagine how fun a Dazzle wedding would be! (Oh, and it’s free.)
Daydreaming about travel to faraway lands? These cheap flights out of Denver might help you make that a reality.
The Brewtography Project is the perfect coffee table book for Coloradans who drink beer more than coffee. (Okay, for Coloradans.)
This report on Colorado food waste makes me cringe at my own family’s waste. (And we can’t be the only ones whose compost bin keeps getting stolen, right? What is that about?)
The 2018 campaigns for Colorado governor started this week.* (And, psst…your petition signature can only count once.)
What are you up to this weekend? The Denver Women’s March is tomorrow starting in Civic Center Park! (Here’s what you need to know if you’re going.*) Also, this week…Winter Boutique Warehouse Sale benefitting Cocktails for a Cause, Speakeasy Soiree, The Pump and Dump Show and Mom UP! Project.
Enjoy the weekend!
