This Week in Denver January 26 - February 1, 2018

It can’t always be sunny in Denver.

What’s worth knowing this week in Denver January 26 – February 1, 2018? Denver Restaurant Week menus are now online, vote for Westword’s Best of Denver, and the new “mega ski pass” you need to know about.

The always anticipated menus for Denver Restaurant Week (February 23 – March 4) were released this week. (More than 200…and they’re online here.)

Here’s more news for Denver foodies… Rosenberg’s Bagels and Deli will be offering a sneak preview of Lou’s Italian Specialties by offering Italian hoagies on Super Bowl Sunday. A major taco festival is coming to Denver this spring (and bringing ’90s band The Offspring with it). Where to find the best charcuterie in Denver. Golden Triangle’s Charcoal Restaurant closed this week. And 10 Denver pancakes you’ll want to try.

So happy to see the Denver Distillery finally opened its doors on S. Broadway after years — seriously years — in the making. (I actually worked above the space when they first started renovations, and I was pregnant with my oldest then…and he’s almost 6 now!)

Berkeley’s loss will be Baker’s gain when Second Star to the Right Children’s Books moves to S. Broadway this summer.

Vote now for Westword’s Best of Denver Reader’s Poll.

Entrepreneurs can earn equity in Denver’s newest co-working space.

Will the Ikon Pass replace the Rocky Mountain Super Pass? The new “mega ski pass” will get you into 23 ski resorts across the U.S. and Canada in 2019, and five are in Colorado. (And here’s where you can do a little after-work skiing, even when you work in Denver.)

The interactive art installation entitled “Tree of Transformation” was installed in Civic Center Park this week.

If getting back in shape is one of your New Year’s resolutions, you won’t want to miss McNichols FitFest in Civic Center Park this weekend…you’ll get to check out almost 30 fitness studios all at one event.

The soon-to-open Montbello Open Space Park will get a $1 million climbing wall courtesy of The North Face’s “Walls Are Meant for Climbing” campaign.*

The Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show started earlier this week, but there are still events you can attend. (Did you see the Patagonia-led #MonumentsForAll light protest in Denver’s Civic Center Park or the BLM headquarters in Lakewood?)

Enter to win tickets to the exclusive, sold-out Harry Potter trivia night hosted by HBO. (Real fans will also want to attend Denver Comic Con this summer as two Harry Potter stars will be there.)

What are you up to this weekend? A few more fun options…Winter Brew FestDenver Bourbon and Bacon Fest, Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show, and UllrGrass in Golden. Plus, more January fun and things to do with the kids this weekend.

Enjoy the weekend!
